The scientific program includes the investigation of mixed gas clathrate hydrates with without and with mineral dust/sand impurities. In both cases, mixed clathrate hydrate formation, composition, stability, and selectivity will be investigated using theoretical and experimental approaches, from a molecular scale perspective, to a super-molecular scale standpoint. Theoretical and experimental observations will be gathered altogether and the fundamental factors governing the influence of minerals on the most striking clathrate/mineral systems in terms of selectivity will be highlighted in view of geological and astrophysical applications.
